Entry #3: Small Edible Disks
It was early afternoon and I had just finished my lunch. I needed something to cleanse my palette, and liven me for the rest of the day. I pulled out the small plastic box in my pocket that I had been saving for later. I tug at the plastic and then flip the lid open. After rotating it so that the opening was facing my palm, I tilt the container and begin shaking it. I made a few rigorous shakes and one of these small disks landed in my palm. I brought it to my mouth and closed my lips around it.
This experience is something to savor, so I don't chew. Instead, I let the flavor wash over me, feeling refreshed. I continue with my work, sorting out papers and documents, all while feeling this piece of a wintergreen forest dissolve in my mouth. I am so grateful that I have an entire box more of them for when I finish this one. I bite down on the hard disk, exploding waves of an ice cold river sprinkled with sugar across my senses. I suck out the invigorating flavor from the small pieces that are now shattered across my tongue. A cold Alaskan winter had taken over the inside of my mouth.

I grabbed my water bottle and took a few sips, flooding the back of my throat with this flavor. The water cascaded over the remnants of the disk. I let the last shards of the dissipate and dissolve before reaching back for the plastic box and shaking another disk into my palm.
